Zhazudism

Religion-wiki — for all religions and none

This article is about a constructed religion.
The religion has been created by users of Religion-wiki.
It may have none, one or very few followers.
As with every religion, it may be taken seriously
by those who have created it, so please be respectful.

Zhazudism is a religion created by ME because I am very disappointed in the commercialism and lack of rationality in today's established religions. While it is currently still in development, I hope to finish it while I'm still alive and well (which is likely, considering that when I am typing this, I am 14). Anyway, "Zhazud" is a word from a language I am also developing. Zhazud means just (as in the root word for justice). I think I'll need to find a better, more easily pronounced name, so don't get too used to the name "Zhazudism."

The Core Beliefs are a complicated system of morals and history. The Morals are as follows:
Morals in peace:
-Do not physically harm one another
-Convert others using peaceful negotiations, not by force
-Obey the Ekite's (see gods) every will, for he is all knowing
-Respect those above you, for they have earned their status
-Respect those at your status, for you have done no better nor worse
-Respect those below you, for you, most likely, were once among them
-Do not enslave any being who does not choose enslavement
-Worship the Ekite, and do the same for no other
-Protect and serve those who cannot adequately do so for themselves
-Do not mentally or emotionally harm one another for what is not their fault
-Earn your belongings, for someone had to work to make them
-Earn your status, for others had to earn theirs
-Accept all gifts that the Ekite had presented to you
-To willingly deny an innocent or good person the help that they need is dishonorable
-While respect is good, helping those who have been deceived will save them
-Sexual behavior in any form, for reasons other than reproduction, are acts that are favored by Ekite's enemies and should not be done

The transition to war morals comes when an enemy of Ekite has been found and all peaceful negotiations have proven useless.

War Morals
-Never harm your ally if not for the greater good
-Dispose of any evil once it is discovered

Rituals are prayer and service, if they can be counted as rituals. More detail will be added later.

Holidays are any historical moment of great significance, so you can just celebrate whatever until I come up with specific holidays..
UPDATE 3/26/07: A new holiday has been added: The Zhazudist Day of the Dead, 12/1.07. I don't know if other religions do this or something like this (they probably do), but this day is the collective mourning for those deceased by those who cared about them. The day starts off with the people who choose to attend collecting material remnants of the deceased (most likely a worldly possession) into an otherwise empty room, and spending 8 hours (starting at 8:00 AM) in that room, silently mourning the deceased, and drinking spring water if they get thirsty. After the 8 hours are up, the people in the room eat a simple meal of simple foods (probably things along the line of bread, fish, fruits, and vegetables.) The rest of the day contains no work, nor play, nor casual behavior. Another, smaller version of this holiday takes place on an individual basis on the day after someone dies, though there is no annual anniversary for the individual deaths.

Zhazudists believe that Ekite created the universe, for mundane objects cannot create themselves, and to have an infinite past (as every atheistic theory that I know of would claim that everything has to some degree), one must exist outside of time anyway.

Ekite will end the universe when he feels like it is the best time for such to happen.

Ekite is just a title (in the language I am making) for "Almighty one," although I think I'll need a better name for him than "Ekite." THE Ekite is basically the same god that the Jews, Christians, and Muslims believe. The only reason that I can't categorize my religion on any of the three is because I have beliefs that I would think different enough to create their own category. Here's an example of such beliefs. Jesus represents peace and all that stuff, but peace only works on those who will accept it, due to the mutual cooperation required for it to happen. And Satan cannot accept peace. Because the only plausible alternative is war, Ekite must not be all about peace. That is why I believe there are two sides to Ekite (dang, that name sounds so lame. I really need to find a better one.)

The prophets are basically anyone who has has any contact with Ekite, or anyone who has supported the zhazudist cause in any major way. This includes Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, me, etc.

Most of the sacred sites are in the middle east, if you haven't been able to tell that.

The rules of living were already explained, and the reasons for this religion are not only my disappointment in other religions, but also my thought that people need to know the truth. And I plan to reach that truth by using what's left of the world's common sense. Please note that I say "I plan to reach that truth" instead of "I know the truth."

UPDATE: I thought of a better name for this religion: The Communion of the Two-fold God. The name for God will probably be something in Latin.

UPDATE: I have decided to stop working on this religion. After hearing of Deism, I found that Deism used much less faith than this religion, which I found very interesting. I found that it was easier to accept the deistic beliefs than those of this religion. So now, I am a Deist, and I do not want to finish this religion because I no longer believe what I came up with for it.
