Patriarch Kirill I, or Cyril I (Russian: Кирилл, Патриарх Московский и всея Руси), (secular name Vladimir Mikhailovich Gundyayev (Russian: Владимир Михайлович Гундяев); born on November 20, 1946, in Leningrad, Soviet Union) is a Russian Orthodox bishop; Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus, Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church (since February 1, 2009).

He had been Archbishop (later Metropolitan) of Smolensk and Kaliningrad (since December 26, 1984); Chairman of the Russian Orthodox Church's Department for External Church Relations, and permanent member of the Holy Synod since November 1989.
