Vermin are any despicable form of life that plagues humanity. Humans generally will not tolerate the presence of vermin and will often attempt to eradicate them. Many vermin carry diseases and are otherwise nuisances.

Vermin in the Bible

The Bible refers to vermin several times, calling them "loathsome". Leviticus 11:29-45 teaches us that all who eat vermin are unclean.[1] While many animals are listed in the Bible as unclean, not all of them are vermin. Leviticus specifically mentions that everything going upon its belly and everything going by crawling upon many feet are vermin.
