Vampyrism
Religion-wiki — for all religions and none
Vampyrism is, well, a religion for vampyres/people who believe in vampyres. We Vampyrists have a Goddess as well as a God, but our Goddess, Asema, is the Highest in Power. Her God was not always a god. He was once a normal (well, normal psychic) man named Everit, until he had a vision sent from the Goddess Asema. She told him to inform others of Her existence and to try to convert people to vampyrism. Of course, this was at a time when people still burned witches and vampyres, so when he told his village that he was visited by a vampyre Goddess, he was burned to ashes. Now he accompanies the Goddess Asema as Her God and lover.
Religious Acts:
- Vampyrists pray to the Goddess and God once a day, at midnight
- Vampyrists, even if only vampyres spiritually and not physically, are to drink at least some blood, even if only their own when they bleed
- Vampyrists, despite popular opinion, are a peaceful people. We love nature and are not fighters, although the instinct is still engraved. We've worked past it, so most of us push that instinct out of the way until it's absolutely necessary
Annual Events:
- October 1st-31st: October Blood Detox--Test your faith to the Goddess by totally wiping out blood from your lifestyle for all of October (the maximum amount of time a vampyre can go out without blood is one month)
- November 12th-December 12th: Gift Exchange-- It's sort of like Christmas, but without all the lights and Jesus and stuff.
What the annual gift exchange is you host a gathering and invite all the Vampyrists you know. There are no lights except for a dozen candles throughout the house. Everyone buys gifts for someone unspecific and everyone grabs a present randomly, in the dark and whatever they pick up is what they get. After the gift exchange, everyone goes outside and prays to the Goddess and God for all they've given them for 30 minutes. That's the annual gift exchange, in a nutshell.
