True Distinction

Religion-wiki — for all religions and none

The True Distinction is a translation of an Arabic phrase (Al Furqan al-Haqq) that carries an abstract meaning which implies the separating of what is true and good from what is false and evil. It roughly translates as "the true distinction", "the true discrimination", or "the true criterion". This work was originally written in Arabic and serves as an evangelistic tool to combat Islam. A variant version of the book appears at the end of the Isaric Book of the Other.

The version used by Isars, i.e., the ISSV, makes only one specific reference to the Arabic language within the main body of text. It is not addressed to Muslims like the original version, but rather is addressed to "keepers of the Torah and guardians of the Gospel", who are then instructed to present the message of the True Distinction to Muslims. The declaration, "YHWH has inspired it---a True Distinction---through the Arabic tongue...," is found within the Isaric text, revealing how the message of The True Distinction was carried through Arabic into English and Isaric. The fact that the message of the True Distinction is intended for Muslims does not make it nonapplicable to Isars. Its message is relevant to all people.

[edit] Authorship

The original Arabic version of the True Furqan was written by Al Saffee, then translated into English by Anis Shorrosh, who is also known by the pseudonym Al Mahdy. His English translation, The True Furqan (from Al Furqan al-Haqq), contains parallel Arabic and English versions. Nothing further is publicly known about the author, Al Saffee. It was Shorrosh's English translation that was used as a basis for the Isaric version and the English translation, The True Distinction, although the Arabic original was also referenced.

[edit] Isaric Scriptural Standard Version

Isars believe that the True Furqan contains a message of divine inspiration, and thus it deserves to be part of the Book of the Other. The problem, however, is that inconsistancies exist between what the True Furqan teaches about certain matters and what the Torah and the Gospel teach on those matters (e.g., fasting). Therefore, a reinterpretation was seen as necessary, in order to make the message of the True Furqan completely congruent with the Torah and the Gospel. The Isaric Scriptural Standard Version (ISSV) of the True Distinction addresses a more Hebraic-minded audience, utilizing Biblical prophetic format, Hebrew names, and an initial address, much like what is found in the NT Epistles. After the address, the heart of the message is introduced with the phrase, "Thus says YHWH Elohim:".

[edit] Value and Purpose of the Book

The True Distinction primarily serves as a book of doctrines, affirming the Isar belief in the Trinity, the incarnation and virgin birth of the Word of God, monogamous marriage, infallibility of Scripture, etc. It also formally declares the falsity of Islam, as well as that of all other religions. The book is further valued as an Isaric literary masterpiece, most credit being due, of course, to the original inspired message in Arabic.

[edit] Excerpt

From The Salutation of The True Distinction:

Sons and daughters of Abraham, keepers of the Torah and guardians of the Gospel: Arise and testify, for the end of all things is at hand. YHWH has put forth a true distinction for you to proclaim to those who have commended their souls to vain submission. Go, then, in truth, and bring this message:

To the Arabic nations specifically, and the Muslim world collectively: Peace, mercy, and blessings from God the Almighty.
