Thine be the glory is a well known hymn often used for the celebration of Easter. Composed George Frideric Handel (1685 - 1759) using a tune from his oratorio[1] Judas Maccabaeus[2]. Original Lyrics were by Swiss Hymn writer Edmund Louis Budry (1854 - 1932)[3] and then translated by Richard Birch Holye (1875 - 1939)[4]

Thine be the glory ….

Lo, Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb!

Lovingly He greets us, scatters fear and gloom.

Let the Church with gladness hymns of triumph sing,

For Her Lord now liveth, death hast lost its sting.

Thine be the glory ….

No more we doubt Thee, glorious Prince of life;

Life is naught without Thee: aid us in our strife;

Make us more than conquerors, through Thy deathless love;

Lead us in Thy triumph to Thy home above.

Thine be the glory ….
