Isar Gospel Harmony

(Redirected from The Gospel)

The Isar Gospel Harmony (IGH, also referred to as the Isaric Diatesseron or simply as The Gospel) is a fusion of the four New Testament Gospel accounts used by some Isars. This work is part of a particular Isaric Levite tradition, being used by the same Isars who have adopted the Isar variant of the "Genesis Prologue". The structure of the IGH was modeled upon George Knight's A Simplified Harmony of the Gospels, which is used by many Baptists. Unlike Knight's Harmony, however, the Isar Harmony is intended to be viewed as a composite, "stand-alone" testimony of the life and teachings of Christ, leaving out certain supposed contradictory elements in favor of a single story line that reflects a single viewpoint. The IGH forms part of the Book of the Other, where it is called "The Gospel". The use of a harmony narrative harkens back to ancient Syriac tradition.
