Template:Fertile Crescent myth (Levantine) Shahar is the god of dawn in the pantheon of Ugarit. He is the twin brother and counterpart of Shalim, the god of dusk. The name is a cognate of the Hebrew word Shachar (שחר) meaning dawn.
