Sawan

Sawan is the fifth month of the Sikh Nanakshahi calendar. Since 1998, most of te Sikh community have kept this calendar, which is in step with the Gregorian calendar.
The month of Harh begins on 16 July and ends on 15 August, being thirty-one days long. It corresponds to the Indian calendar month of Shravana.
Gurpurbs during Sawan:
- Miri-Piri Guru Hargobind Sahib — 6 Sawan (21 July).
- Parkash Guru Harkrishan Sahib — 8 Sawan (23 July).
Other commemorations:
- Shaheedi Bhai Taru Singh Ji — 1 Sawan (16 July).
- Morcha Guru Ka Bagh — 24 Sawan (8 August).
