SEND International is an interdenominational Christian mission agency, coordinating over 600 missionaries in more than 20 countries of Asia, Europe and North America. Known as Far Eastern Gospel Crusade (FEGC) until 1981, SEND International was founded in 1947 by a group of World War II veterans from the merger of G.I. Gospel Hour in the Philippines and Japan and the Far Eastern Bible Institute. It was established as a non-profit, interdenominational, Evangelical mission organization with the stated goal to mobilize God’s people to engage the unreached and establish reproducing indigenous churches.
In the late 60's and early 70's, as FEGC grew in its ministry, Central Alaskan Mission merged with FEGC in 1971. Shortly after the change in name in 1981, Spain opened up, allowing new ministry expansion in that country.[clarification needed] After the cold war ended in the early 1990s, SEND expanded into Central and Eastern Europe.
