The national anthem of Romania

Romania /roʊˈmeɪniə/ is a country located in Southeastern and Central Europe, North of the Balkan Peninsula, on the Lower Danube, within and outside the Carpathian arch, bordering on the Black Sea. Almost all of the Danube Delta is located within its territory. It shares a border with Hungary and Serbia to the west, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova to the northeast, and Bulgaria to the south.

Religion in Romania

Romania is an officially secular state with no official state religion.

The majoprity of Romanians are Christians, 86.7% of the population are members of the Romanian Orthodox Church, an autocephalous Orthodox Church. Roman Catholicism is followed by 4.75 of the population and 3.75 of Romanians are Protestants.

Islam is only followed by 0.3% of the population but has a seven hundred year history in the country, some regions of Romania having previously formed part of the Ottoman Empire.

Since the fall of communism, Buddhist centers have been rising up. Approximately 0.5% of Romanians are Buddhists.
