The Dhamma is free. The Buddha did not hold copyrights either The sharing of the Buddha Dhamma is solely for the purpose of prolonging the buddhasasana through releaseHolding the right to encourage doing good, discourage from doing bad and provide guidance in purifying the mind does not seem right.

Object Linking and Embedding
Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) is a technology that allows embedding and linking to documents and other objects developed by Microsoft. For developers, it brought OLE Control eXtension (OCX), a way to develop and use custom user interface elements. On a technical level, an OLE object is any object that implements the IOleObject interface, possibly along with a wide range of other interfaces, depending on the object's needs. All this is done in a legal and proper way and where needed given credits to the OLE provider.

Inline linking (also known as hotlinking, leeching, piggy-backing, direct linking, offsite image grabs and bandwidth theft) is the use of a linked object, often an image, from one site into a web page belonging to a second site. Religion Wiki Notice: Important for Wiki owners using MediaWiki software!!!!
MediaWiki is open source software. (http://www.opensource.org/). Everyone can start his own Wiki. Your database (text) will be licensed under GFDL or CC-BY-SA by default. As Wiki Owner you may change this license to another license but you must arrange a clear statement in your disclaimers. The MediaWiki software is released under an GNU GPL license.
I noticed Religion Wiki has copied my articles and my wiki is hosted on my own server?
It doesn't matter if your wiki is on your own server or not. Current default licenses on MediaWiki are Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported and GNU Free Documentation License(GDFL) . By creating a Wiki you should have arranged your own license in advanced.
Importing Wikipedia content
All text published before June 15th, 2009 was released under the GFDL, and you may also use the page history to retrieve content published before that date to ensure GFDL compatibility.
The Text published after this date is by default under Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License 3.0 (Unported). For compatibility reasons, you are also required to license it under the GNU Free Documentation License (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts). Re-users can choose the license(s) they wish to comply with. Please note that these licenses do allow commercial uses of your contributions, as long as such uses are compliant with the terms.
Since 22/02/2010 Religion Wiki has addopted the Wikipedia Policy.
Importing content from other Wikis hosted by Wikia
Basically we are using the same license CC-BY-SA all content from other wikis may copied here and vice versa. .
Exporting Religion Wiki material
When exporting original material from Religion Wiki, the dual licensing means that you can choose which license to export content under—it is "either/or" not "both." It is important to note that this only applies to material submitted directly to Religion Wiki. Articles that began as Wikipedia imports may only be exported under the GFDL (while the added parts alone may be either CC by-sa or GFDL). The licenses are pretty similar, with some minor differences. All that is required to use religion wiki material is to cite your source and include a link back to the original article (preferably its versioned URL, which can be found by clicking the most recent date on the history page). This does not apply to material explicitly licensed in some other way, which should be noted on the article or other material (many photographs, for instance, are licensed only to Religion Wiki and may not be exported).
Religion Wiki Notice: Most Religion Wiki content may, unless otherwise noted, be freely used under the GFDL. This means we only ask for a link back to the original article (preferably its URL version, which can be found by clicking on the most recent date on the history page), with proper credit given. You do not need to include the list of authors, since they will be listed in our local article history.
