Liturgy talk:Advent
Religion-wiki — for all religions and none
The liturgical colour for Advent can be purple or blue. The use of blue is suggested to distinguish Advent from Lent, because it's character is one more of hope than of penitence. But then again my church (The Anglican Church of Canada) does not prescribe any colours. It only suggests them. The intention is to enhance worship, not to detract from it.
- Blue or indigo is generally considered to be a substitute for purple or violet in the Roman scheme of liturgical colours. Perhaps that should be more clear in the article. --Gareth Hughes 10:34, 30 Jun 2005 (UTC)
