Isarlaism

Religion-wiki — for all religions and none

Isarlaism (pronounced "ee-sar-lay-ism") is an out-dated term that was used to describe the religious practices and culture of ethnic Isars. The term "Isarlaism" derives from the irregular Syriac Aramaic word איסרליא (Isarlaia), meaning "Israelite". The word "Isar" (pronounced "ee-sar") is a further English simplification of the aformentioned Aramaic word. Isaric Christians are collectively referred to as the Isaric Anabaptist Church. The phrase "Isaric Christianity" has replaced the term "Isarlaism" in order to emphasize the Christian identity of Isars.
