INRI appam, also known as pesaha appam, is a type of unleavened Easter bread. It is made on Maundy Thursday by Saint Thomas Christians from Kerala, India.[1] Although other types of appam are made from fermented batter[2], INRI appam can be made from batter that is fermented for a relatively short period of time.[3]

Traditionally, INRI appam is served in a ceremonial manner. The the head of the family cuts the appam, dips it in paalukurukku (syrup), and serves it to the other family members.[3]
