Ibn Sina (Latin: Avicenna) was a Muslim physician and philosopher who lived from 980 to 1037 CE. He wrote Canon of the Medicine, a book describing infectious diseases, and The Book of Healing. A prolific Persian writer, he was particularly fascinated by Aristotle.
