The Hui people (Chinese: 回族; Hanyu pinyin: Huízú) are ethnic Chinese Muslims. They are similar in culture and appearance to the Han Chinese, but they can be distinguished by that the men wear white skullcaps and the women wear headscarves. They also don't eat pork, the most common meat in China, due to Islamic dietary laws.

Hui people are found mostly in Northwestern China, especially in Gansu and Shaanxi provinces. There are also Hui communities in large cities like Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong. There are also Hui in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, who speak a variety of Mandarin written in Cyrillic called Dungan.
