sabh ko aakhai aapnaa jis naahee so chun kadhee-ai. keetaa aapo aapnaa aapay hee laykhaa sandhee-ai.
jaa rahnaa naahee ait jag taa kaa-it gaarab handhee-ai.
mandaa kisai na aakhee-ai parh akhar ayho bujhee-ai. moorkhai naal na lujhee-ai. ॥19॥

All call You their own, Lord; one who does not own You, is picked up and thrown away.
Everyone receives the rewards of his own actions; his account is adjusted accordingly.
Since one is not destined to remain in this world anyway, why should he ruinhimself in pride?
Do not call anyone bad; read these words, and understand. Don't argue with fools. ॥19॥

gi-aan gi-aan kathai sabh ko-ee. kath kath baad karay dukh ho-ee.
kath kahnai tay rahai na ko-ee. bin ras raatay mukat na ho-ee. ॥2॥

Everyone talks about spiritual wisdom and spiritual knowledge.
Talking, talking, they argue, and suffer.No one can stop talking and discussing it.
Without being imbued with the subtle essence, there is no liberation. ॥2॥

jhakh bolan ki-aa jag si-o vaad. jhoor marai daykhai parmaad.

Why do you speak such nonsense, and argue with the world?
You shall die repenting, when you see your own insanity.

simrit saastar parheh puraanaa. vaad vakaaneh tat na jaanaa.
vin gur pooray tat na paa-ee-ai sach soochay sach raahaa hay. ॥4॥

They read the Simritees, the Shaastras and the Puraanas;
they argue and debate, but do not know the essence of reality.
Without the Perfect Guru, the essence of reality is not obtained. The true and pure beings walk the Path of Truth. ॥4॥

bayd parheh parh baad vakaaneh. ghat meh barahm tis sabad na pachhaaneh.
gurmukh hovai so tat bilovai rasnaa har ras taahaa hay. ॥11॥

He reads and studies the Vedas, and argues about them;
God is within his own heart, but he does not recognize the Word of the Shabad.
One who becomes Gurmukh churns the essence of reality; his tongue savors the sublime essence of the Lord. ॥11॥

jo jee-ai kee saar na jaanai. tis si-o kichh na kahee-ai ajaanai.
moorakh si-o nah loojh paraanee har japee-ai pad nirbaanee hay. ॥5॥

But one who does not know the state of the soul - do not say anything to such an ignorant person.
Do not argue with fools, O mortals. Meditate on the Lord, in the state of Nirvaanaa. ॥5॥
