The global village is a world view of Earth as one common group of people, one community united by common needs and experiences. Some individuals reject this view of the world as both incorrect and undesirable. However, the Pentecost experience in the Upper Room, following the ascension of Christ, marks the birth of the Church and a reversal of the confusion of tongues instituted at Babel in the time of Genesis. In this view Christians are called to bring every nation into one body whose head is Jesus.
