Garbh Sri Mahavir Swami is the Jain festival of the conception, or descent into the womb, of Mahavira, the twenty-fourth and last Tirthankara of this age. Mahavira is traditionally thought to have been conceived in 599 BCE. This festival is usually celebrated on the sixth day of the bright half of Ashalha.
