Finland /ˈfɪnlənd/, officially the Republic of Finland (Finnish: Suomen Tasvalta; Swedish: Republiken Finland), is a Nordic country situated in the Fennoscandian region of northern Europe. It borders Sweden on the west, Russia on the east, and Norway on the north, while Estonia lies to its south across the Gulf of Finland. The capital city is Helsinki.
Religion in Finland
Most Finns are members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, one of the largest Lutheran churches in the world with 4.3 million members, 79.7% of Finland's population. The Finnish Orthodox Church is followed by 1.1% of the population and other Christian denominations by even smaller percentages of Finland's people. Non-Christian religions, such as Islam and Judaism are only followed by about 1.3% of the population. Approximately 0.2% of the people of Finland are Buddhists.
