Description
Français : Prise de Jérusalem par Hérode le Grand en 36 av. J.-C. Flavius Josèphe, Les Antiquités judaïques, enluminure de Jean Fouquet, vers 1470-1475. Paris, BnF, département des Manuscrits, NAF 21013, fol. 1v. (Livre XV). En 36 av. J.-C., Hérode le Grand entre en vainqueur à Jérusalem. Derrière lui, dans la piscine probatique, Jean Fouquet a figuré l'assassinat par noyade du grand prêtre Aristobule. En arrière-plan, le grand prêtre célèbre le culte dans le sanctuaire du Temple de Jérusalem.
