Deborah Lynn "Debbie" Loeb is a Jewish American singer-songwriter and actress. She is the sister of singer-songwriter and actress Lisa Loeb. She is a native of Bethesda, Maryland, was raised in Dallas, Texas, where she currently lives. She is best known for appearing as herself in her sister's reality-based series Number 1 Single.
Loeb, who stands out at 5'6" and is taller than Lisa, is best known for her work in the Dance music community and to viewers on MTV as the host of the talk show The Debbie Loeb Show, the children's program Debbie Debutante and the Spanish-language Televisa series "Lo Mejor del Mundial."
In 2006 Loeb scored a record deal with Ultra Records (the signing of Loeb to the label was featured on "Number 1 Single"), which released her first single "Faraway." The track is already becoming a major hit at Dance radio, where it has debuted at number 21 on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay chart for the week ending March 27, 2006. She was expected to release her first full length set in Summer 2006 but no official date has been given. In August 2006 Debbie Loeb had completed a new single to follow from Faraway which is yet to be released.
Loeb holds an M.A in Solo Performance and Education from New York University, a B.A. in Spanish (her second language) from University of California at Berkeley and also works with young people with learning disabilities as a learning specialist.
