Avant, formerly known as GMU, is a mission agency based in Kansas City, Missouri. It changed its name recently to provide a more neutral basis to enter foreign countries that aren't as friendly to the gospel.
Avant's "short cycle solution" is the strategy which has been recently implemented in order to spend less time in each country or region it enters. This strategy focuses on training church leaders to be able to be self-sufficient so that missionaries can leave soon while the national church takes over.
