Major events of 2007 include:
- May 17. The Reunification of the Russian Orthodox Church with the Russian Orthodox Church outside Russia after 80 years of a schism.
- May 28. The Creation Museum opens in Petersburg, Kentucky.
- June 20. At their national convention, the American Association of Lutheran Churches declares themselves to be in full fellowship with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. The AALC was originally a faction of the American Lutheran Church that refused to merge into the Evangelical Lutheran Curch in America in 1988.
- July 16. The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod recognizes the fellowship agreement with the AALC at their 63rd Regular convention.
The AALC is the currently the only American Lutheran church in fellowship with the LCMS, although the LCMS has 29 international partners.
