Seminex controversy: Faculty members of Concordia Seminary, a relatively liberal member of the conservative Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, are charged with teaching false doctrine by abandoning sola scriptura. Seminary president Reverend Dr. John Tietjen is suspended. In protest of the charges, dissident faculty and students walked out and formed the Seminary in Exile.
